Major Functions
- Identify sampling design issues in PLFS, comparing it with the other private sector survey on employment to build the case to show how PLFS is better than the other estimates.
- Analyze trade statistics for making recommendations for changing export basket of India based on competitiveness of exports including an analysis of India’s Revealed Comparative Advantage of exports from different sectors, including Services (at granular/disaggregated level).
- Compute the employment elasticity of different industries — Based on RBI’s updated elasticity estimates.
- Formulate a framework for integrated high frequency monitoring and development of service sector statistics for economic analysis.
- Develop a framework for continuous and high frequency monitoring of private capital formation in India
